Mr. Mate Al-Khafajy

Piano and Theory Instructor, Band Coach, Sound Engineer, DJ,

Welcome to our music studio!

As a cofounder of Accel Music Studios, I am a proud member of the Ottawa music community. We offer so much more than just music education. We want all of our students to be just as involved with music as I was when I first started. Music is a passion and it can change peoples life. I have completed my Bachelor Degree in Music at University of Ottawa, specializing in piano pedagogy and I hope to pass my knowledge onto all my students. My goal is spark peoples interest in music either in a lesson as well is in a performance.

I have playing piano since the age of 10. I started piano lessons in Hungary and have further pursued my dreams as a musician in Canada. I have participated in several competitions including the Kiwanis Music Festival as well as ORMTA Music Competition where I have placed Third or higher. I believe music is a passion that lasts a lifetime and I believe it is my job to trigger this passion in other peoples life.

Mr. David Santry

Piano, Flute and Theory Instructor, Choir Director, Professional Musician.

As a cofounder of Accel Music Studios, I am proud to serve the musical community of Ottawa where I was born and raised. Music has been my passion since the age of 7 where I pursued the Royal Conservatory of Music with very classical training. Performance and competition have always been my main goals and I stress those musical attributes as a music teacher, which I have been for the past 6 years. Upon completing my Bachelors of Music with a specialization in piano pedagogy at the University of Ottawa, I opened a music school with my colleague Mate Al-Khafajy. Outside of our business, I am actively involved with collaborative recitals, performances at special events and am currently the director for the Ottawa East Seventh Day Adventist Church Choir. My most recent competition was at the USOMC 2007 in California where I placed top three in several categories, each with over 40 international competitors. Although my main focus is in classical music, I believe it essential to study other genres as well, such as contemporary, rag and jazz. I have been privileged to study under the musical guidance of Claudia Cashin-Mack, Colin Mack, Jean-Paul Sevilla, Andrew Tunis and Susan Telner.
